I think she wins that. She's very popular and her husband doesn't have a bunch of scandals that she can be tagged with like Clinton. On the flip side she lacks experience. But I don't think she'll run based on what she's said.

Well I doubt she'd want to run but Democrats really ought to have learned their lesson: people don't appreciate political dynasties anymore. Trump could make hay out of 'she only got here because of her husband'. Hillary had a list of her own accomplishments to counter that attack line somewhat but what has Michelle done independently of her husband beyond educating kids about eating healthy? To beat Trump Democrats need an outsider that either is very new to the political scene (or at least unknown to most of the public) or a complete wildcard with no political experience, rehashing the same old names is a good formula for losing...

I don't think she could do it. I doubt she could even make it through the 2020 Democratic primaries.

Sure her approval ratings are high now, but the second she decides to throw her hat into the ring for President they'll fall drastically. 

Also, what exactly makes her qualified to be President? I know Donald Trump wasn't exactly qualified, but his perceived business acumen qualified him in the eyes of many voters. Michelle would need to at least complete one full term as a Senator if she hopes to run a successful presidential campaign.

If Michelle really wanted this, I could see the Obama's convincing Durbin to retire in 2020 so Michelle could run to succeed him.
