Considering that I support both adherence to constitutional roles of government (Federalism is a two-way street, you know Wink) and restraint in foreign policy (this is basically an act of aggression against a sovereign nation--not a fan of that) I can't imagine any way I'd support this bill.

Thoughts from the rest of the Chamber?

Aside from concerns already expressed, this bill doesn't do anything except maybe make someone angry.

This is probably the best way to put it, really.

The people of Cuba have suffered long enough. We have an opportunity to free them! Should we not take advantage of this?

There are so many legal problems with this and although I understand that the people of Cuba have been suffering, it's also not our responsibility, as a nation, and certainly not as a region, to free them.

As a former Secretary of State, I must implore the delegates to reject this absurd and unprecedented proposal. Bills like this only make it harder for our diplomats to do their jobs and accomplish literally nothing besides angering everyone involved.

When will we learn that regime change is a bad idea?

What, are we going to give Puerto Rico back? Sure, it hasn't always worked, but it worked there. Why not with Cuba?

That wasn't really regime change, but imperial territory swapping in a time where that was what people did.

Anyway, even if this was a good idea, it's solidly outside of regional jurisdiction.

Yeah... As Leinad just said. You are a region, you cannot make these foreign policy decisions, most especially when they fly wholeheartedly in the face of national policy on Cuba. I, as a Southern Citizen, and national lawmaker, DEMAND you withdraw this idiotic assault on federal law.

I'm a firm believer that the Chamber of Delegates should be able to make it's *own* deliberations without Yankee interference.

If you wish to express disapproval of my actions as a delegate, you're more than welcome to address my PM box.

I'm happy to respond to all of my constituents.

Considering that debate has slowed down and everyone has said something, I motion for a final vote on this bill.

I now open a final vote on this bill, for 48 hours or until all members have voted or either the bill's passage or it's failure become mathematically impossible.
