I would switch Pennsylvania and Wisconsin with Florida.

Yep, and Monroe, Michigan became part of Ohio.

Yep, and Monroe, Michigan became part of Ohio.

exactly. no actual results changed, only four counties were moved between states. the point beïng how arbitrary and ridiculous the electoral college is.

Interesting how removing Monroe County, a county that Obama won in 2012, from Michigan would have actually helped Clinton.

You could also add Lake County, IL to Wisconsin and Clinton would win WI.

And add Camden, NJ to Pennsylvania and Clinton would win PA

Give New Castle, DE to PA Clinton wins by 9K votes although whats left of DE goes to Trump. And give to Wisconsin Lake Co., IL and that flips WI towards Clinton. With Monroe going to OH Clinton wins 276-262.

Michigan and Florida would still be about as competitive in this map as they are in real life, so the candidates' campaigning probably would have been the same. Amazing how if the state borders had happened to be drawn slightly differently, the result could be so drastically different.

Lake, IL -> WI
Camden, NJ -> PA

That would be three assuming that you also move Monroe County, Michigan to Ohio.

You could even do it with one.

Sure, I did the 3 county solution, but why not do something more... dramatic?

Clinton's MOV smaller than the number of Libertarian voters in states totaling more than 123 EVs:
Mexico Nuevo, Navajo, Big Sky, Pennsylvania, Northwoods (the Northern NE/Adirondacks state), Florida, Carolina, Cuyahoga (the OH rump state), Colorado, and Michigan.

Trump's two best states (as you could imagine) are Appalachia and Texarkansas.

Of the 'river states' Clinton takes Mississippi by a whisker but Trump held a commanding lead in Missouri and Ohio (the one that's the Ohio valley) Tongue

Dividing the continental US among its 48 biggest metropolitan areas (Washington is one of them, so we assume there is no federal district at all, or the 23rd Amendment has been repealed, and that the total number of electors is 535.)

Clinton wins 287-248, though the state of Cleveland is probably in the midst of a recount (with Clinton up 1097 votes).  It's not deciding though, as Cleveland only has 12 EVs.  The tipping point state is Milwaukee (9 EV), where Clinton is up by just under 13,000 votes; it's possible in this universe Trump could be going for a recount, but one that he'll lose.

Compare this to the 2012 map:

Obama wins 291-244, a lot closer than in our universe.  Clinton picked up Phoenix, Austin, and San Antonio, but lost Las Vegas, Denver, and Minneapolis (the latter two thanks to the hard Trump swings in the Northern Plains).

Tipping point state here was Sacramento (with Denver just gravy on top of that); possible Romney might not have conceded for a while, with Sacramento within 13,000 votes, but I can't imagine he'd try to pull off recounts in both states.
