This could very well be the beginning of a new Republican alignment and resurgence.
No true, lasting realignment begins with the party in question losing the youth vote
(aka future America) by landslide proportions, while also losing ground among most growing portions of the electorate.
Millennials
hate Trump, and he is now officially the face of the Republican Party. Millennials, younger GenX'ers, all heavily Democratic groups
(and likely democratic in the case of future GenZ), will make up over half of the actual electorate by 2024 or earlier. That's quite a dilemma for Republicans if you ask me.
Trump is just a temporary anaesthetic. You guys still have a massive new voter problem, and it would be unwise to think Trump's win has made concern for that unnecessary.
