Probably but maybe not. This election could well be a poisoned chalice, given the unpopularity of both candidates and the immense challenges they face, plus a recession is likely to occur. Then 2020 would be more consequential if the Democrats win and gain a majority and are able to implement their agenda. Still, it probably was extremely consequential.

It will depend on how the first Trump goes.

Reality is not on your side. Trump was endorsed by the KKK. Clinton was endorsed by former Republican office holders like John Warner, Colin Powell and even former President George HW Bush.
