If there was no 22nd Amendment, which forbids a incumbent president from running for a third term, could President Obama have beaten Donald Trump in 2016 if he had ran again?

I feel like if he somehow lost to Trump, people would be saying "If only he had stepped aside for Hillary Clinton Sad"

Almost certainly. The Republicans are only good at running against Obama so long as he's not on the ballot (2010, 2014, and 2016).

Wouldn't even be close. Obama would have minimized losses among the WWC. Sure he would have lost some ground (decidedly less than Hillary esp in rural areas), but among suburbanites, he would have gained. Also would have benefited from higher Black turnout. Obama would have won WI, FL, MI, PA, NC, GA, and AZ.
