Flashback to one of my very earliest memories -- when I was 4 in preschool (so, 2001) and confidently informed the class that Santa wasn't real and it's actually their parents bringing them gifts.

Religious tolerance does not mean being equally intolerant of all religions.

That's a good point. Christmas is a season for giving and sharing and being kind to one another. Why should a wrench be thrown into it for everyone to feel bad instead of opening their hearts and feeling good?

Santa Claus is not in the Bible, and the "fat jolly bearded guy in a red suite" thing was invented by Coca-Cola.

The red-suited Santa was already the popular image before Coca-Cola took him up, no doubt in part because he was already wearing their colors.

they ain't banning Santa, or at least it's not clear that they are banning Santa.  Apparently some teachers have gone overboard in past years with their door decorations.
