We've been here before in 2000, when a Prez-elect isn't respected by the will of the voters.  Dubya was just fortunate that 911 happened. But, Trump will be controversial no matter what.

If enough Republican electors vote for Bernie, and Democratic electors switch from Clinton to Bernie, Bernie will POTUS! I don't know who would be VP, however. Well, so this sounds unlikely, right?
The truth is I think that it is unlikely Trump won't be elected this month. But if 37 GOP electors don't vote for Trump, that would not be a "constitutional crisis", the electors are just as free to vote their conscience as  were Democratic super delegates, right?

Well, at least the congressional electoral vote count will be interesting this time "...And three votes for Bernie Sanders" "...And one vote for Mike Pence (for President)" "...And two votes for Gary Johnson" "...And one vote for Jeb!"

Hopefully this will be enough to make Republicans agree to abolish the Electoral College.

Going against the will of the people when they have made a terrible decision is the whole point of the electoral college though.

And seeing that might make people think, "Wow, this whole system is actually pretty dumb."

Enjoy your disaster of a President, you dumb racist.

Hillary lost because she failed to see the plight of the hard working, honest, every day American, who just want the dignity, respect, and stability of having a good job.  Hillary felt a sense of entitlement.

Donald Trump knew that jobs is a top priority.

We support Trump because he can see the plight of millions of Americans, whereas, Hillary and the Democrats simply took it for granted that they would continue to have the unquestioned support of working class Americans.

Trump addressed the issues important to working class Americans, Hillary did not.  She didn't even step foot in Wisconsin since the convention.

All the Democrats on this forum seem to be able to do is to cry racist, instead of having the guts to publicly state that Trump addressed the issues important to Americans, and that's why he won the election.

Racism is a smoke screen by the Democrats to cover up the fact that they failed miserably in standing up for the honest, hard working, tax paying, every day Americans who make this country work.

Following is your very ignorant and accusatory remark.  This is a personal attack, and you should be held responsible for it by the moderators on this forum.

Quote from Pericles:

Enjoy your disaster of a President, you dumb racist.

There is no place on this forum for members calling other members dumb racists.

Racism is a smoke screen by the Democrats to cover up the fact that they failed miserably in standing up for the honest, hard working, tax paying, every day Americans who make this country work.
These things are not mutually exclusive, you know. It is true that Secretary Clinton failed, in many ways, to hear the voices of white, blue collar workers who feel they have been short shafted by their government in recent years. She took for granted that these voters would support her no matter what, and that is an important reason for her defeat. It is also true that Donald Trump has made frequent use of rhetoric and policy proposals that are, objectively, racist. Pretending otherwise is just as unhelpful as Democrats who complain about the results of the election without considering how they contributed to their own defeat.

And this is the point worth remembering, because if Hillary Clinton was deaf to the concerns of so many of her fellow citizens, so too was Donald Trump. Let us not forget that many of those "hard working, tax paying, everyday Americans" are immigrants, Muslims, women, and members of the LGBTQ community who felt that Donald Trump did not hear their voice, that the America he envisioned had no room for they and their families. Those are legitimate concerns, and it will take more than a taco bowl and a couple of tweets to assuage the fear and resentment that have marked this campaign.

Wouldn't that kinda destroy the purpose of their party's name?

It would be ironic if somehow Trump lost based on electoral college voters now that he's the number 1 fan of the electoral college.
He won the electoral college. The people voted him in.
