Quite possibly. This could have a major effect in the Carolinas and Georgia.

Not sure that people who don't believe in climate change will necessarily attribute an ecological disaster to climate change.

This. They'll vote R until the water is at their necks.

It might have had an impact on the Dem wave in 2006 because of Katrina, but that is the only time in recent history that Democrats have benefited from running on climate change.

Well yeah, but wouldn't that be more attributed to the response rather than the disaster itself?

That was probably more due to the botched FEMA response tanking W's favorables.

Sure, but most people who "don't believe" in climate change are pretty casual about it. The number of hardcore deniers/conspiracists is low, while most of them just haven't really given it a second thought.

For climate change alone to move districts, things would have to get pretty bad. In fact, not only that but while things are getting bad, Republican politicians would have to continue to deny climate change or at least refuse to do anything about it. By the time it does get bad enough to where it can't be ignored, Republicans will probably begrudgingly come around but find ways to blame Democrats for nothing getting done and/or act like the GOP has always supported tackling climate change.
