My opinion of many politicians has crashed, but in terms of policies, it balances out, so the same.

I started as a pretty serious bernie supporter. Now I dislike his side of the party.

I've also realized that my ideological differences with 'liberals' are of kind and not degree.

Speaking of which, Lib/Con is a terrible dichotomy with which to discuss politics.

NOTA. I have transitioned from anti-establishment to more establishment, although I am still strongly conservative. I'm also more realistic and pragmatic about my views. In retrospect, I am satisfied with who I supported for the presidency (Ted Cruz), but I do wish we had rallied behind Rubio...

I have become more Libertarian Socially because of Trump. I think I moved from being a "Moderate Libertarian" to being a "Liberal Libertarian".

I don't think my policy views (like those matter anymore) have changed much, but party ID has changed from disaffected Republican to confirmed locked-in straight-ticket lifelong Democrat.

Well, I switched from being totally opposed to the electoral college to being in complete support of it. I have a less favorable opinion of ObamaCare, though I still oppose repealing it. Other than that, not much change really.

Just saving this. "Lifelong" is a very dangerous word to use.

It's odd to figure this out because my political views took a rightward swerve in 2015 (right about when I signed up for Atlas Forum) that was ultimately temporary, and when I go before that, I enter 2014: a dark cloud of depression and disconnection with the material world, and one of the worst years of my life. I voted straight ticket Dem during the midterms then as a protest vote because it was obvious that the Republicans would all win in a wave. If you went back and told me then that 2016 would be Clinton vs. Trump I might reply that "well, that just confirms that this country will suffer a societal collapse within my lifetime. Pretty darn hard to focus on things like classes when I'm always worried about that and...."

It's probably best to compare me now to what I was like in 2012, and even then my memory lacks specifics. I think I just fit myself into the mold of a Democrat as a means to support Obama's reelection and didn't try to ponder the issues too much.

I can make some judgements based on going even further back to '10 and '11, and knowing what I thought of my views from the viewpoint of 2012. I would say that my social views are a bit further rightward, while my economic views are somewhat further left in 2016.

2015 was weird because I was non-ironically hacking for John Kasich and voted for him in the primaries. My views have been harshly shoved leftward on economics and to a lesser extent further leftward socially during the summer and fall of this year.

TL;DR

vs. 2012: more economically leftist, maybe more socially conservative but this could just be a priority shift after gay marriage was made nationwide.

vs. 2015: far more economically leftist, somewhat more socially liberal. This is more relevant a comparison for this forum even if less so for me long term.

Same, but my position within the Democratic Party seems to have shifted dramatically to the right.

They haven't shifted this year.  But, despite winning this election, I do have some concerns for what it means for my wing of the party (Rubio, Cruz, Walker, McCrory, Pence, etc.) long term.

I am moving to the bubble. I would like to apple-agize to all the Trump supporters, but when i heard about the bubble, it was too good to be true.

My religious views (which have a heavy influence on my politics) have been in a degree of flux, however this had nothing to do with the weekly fluctuations of the campaign.  At the beginning of the campaign, I was a hellfire-and-brimstone hardcore Calvinist - when I realized the difficulties of this worldview, I retreated briefly to liberal Protestantism until finding a happy medium with a Biblically-sound but more compassionate Evangelicalism.

I've become more of a partisan hack.

I was drifting towards the center last year, but now I'm moving back towards the left.
