This has gotten more media coverage in the US than I expected (which was none).

This got any media coverage outside of India? Not a drop here.

The only media coverage that I saw about her was all the breaking news about the evolution of her health when I was in India few weeks ago, I may say I didn't even know about her, and apparently not even all young Indians know very much about her, I was in Mumbai though, might be different in the South.

Popped up on my news feed from an LA Times post, and there was an article in The Economist.

The BBC over here did quite a few pieces on it on their website and few video reports on it which was also more than I also expected.

Pretty amazing for just a chief minister of an Indian state and a testament to her popularity & stature in Indian politics.
