What if Trump becomes a popular president and makes Sasse look bad?

Maybe by Chip Maxwell or one of the Ricketts allies.

He is one of the most conservative Senators.  We can overcome the party division over Trump, but only if we stop targeting good servants like Senator Sasse.  If Trump does a good job, he will admit that much.

I don't necessarily mean more conservative than Sasse, I just mean some other conservatives challenging him due to the fact Sasse opposes Trump.

I think some one will run against him in the primary, but Sasse will prevail with 85+% of the vote.

He will be unseated in the primary be a radical national-sociallist. I am not sure this qualifies as a "conservative" challenge, though.

Quite possibly, although in his favour is that I don't expect the Republican primary people to significantly change from the small-government types, unless Trump voters are really pumped up by the democratic process.

A Trump disciple would be less conservative than Sasse, not more so, and given the performance of candidates trying to run as Trump clones, I'm inclined to say Sasse would prevail... bigly.

A red state with limited career advancement opportunities... someone (or someones) will run against Sasse but I don't see them getting far. See the primary challenges to Richard Shelby in Alabama this year.
