on the 6th of december, 1989, a 25-year-old man entered the école polytechnique in montréal and shot 14 women to death (and injured as many men and women) in the name of fighting against feminism.
today we should remember geneviève bergeron, hélène colgan, nathalie croteau, barbara daigneault, anne-marie edward, maud haviernick, maryse laganière, maryse leclair, anne-marie lemay, sonia pelletier, michèle richard, annie st-arneault, annie turcotte, and barbara klucznik-widajewicz - victims of a vicious strain of white male entitlement that remains just as strong now as it was then.
