Caught up with Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del), who like Pelosi says he might have retired had Hillary won. Now inclined to seek 4th term.
Wow we may actually have zero Senate retirements this cycle...
At a time where Democrats desperately need new blood.

It's probably better for Democrats to focus on bringing in new blood in the House, but it's disappointing regardless to see so few retirements this cycle.

Like publicunofficial said, it's unfortunate to see so many Democrats who are keeping the door shut for freshman Senators, especially in a time where it needs young faces. It's also a shame that there's not really a bench for ambitious young Democrats willing to primary these old Senators out.

I also don't the argument Pelosi and Carper make that now that Trump's president, they need to stand their ground. Like, you watch your whole neoliberal reality begin to crumble, so you decide to further entrench yourself in the system?
