Maybe Lisa Blunt Rochester will run?

She probably wants to serve a number of years in the House before she runs for higher office.

Here's a fun fact: Chris Coons is actually short in real life.

Is this like the opposite of the Napoleon one?

I'll start telling people that. "Napoleon wasn't actually short. But Chris Coons is!"

Yes, it is the opposite of the Napoleon one.

Jack Markell is definitely not going to run for anything in the near future. Several years down the road, he might run.

The articles I just read about Lisa Blunt Rochester make me think she would be pretty good.  I doubt she would primary Carper though since she interned for him years ago.  I wouldn't be surprised to see her run for the seat in 2024.

Tom Carper is her mentor and has supported her run for the House seat, so you're definitely correct that she's not going to primary him.

herein lies the problem with Delaware - their entire political culture is pretty wack.

you can't just leave us hanging like that.

And why is everyone so sure that Markell isn't running?

He probably runs if we get a surprise retirement from Carper, but why would he primary Carper?

You're right, it doesn't make sense for Jack Markell to primary Tom Carper because Democrats are more likely to work together.

Unless Tom Carper or Lisa Blunt Rochester (unlikely) retire in 2018, Jack Markell isn't running for a new office anytime soon.
