Cook always gives benefit of doubt to incumbents.

I have MO and IN as toss up tilt R under proven other wise.

But my back of head feeling, I think McCaskill will win but it is way to early to tell. I think smug over confidence from the GOP is what may cause her to win re-election.

She is not the most liberal Senator in the US Senate despite what some people have said here. You guys make her out to be a far left socialist.

Note the difference between crucial and lifetime votes.

I mean, Cook is always bullish on incumbents, but Angus King more vulnerable than Heidi Heitkamp? Come on.

Bill Nelson and Angus King more vunerable than Heitkamp or Tester?

McCaskill is a talented incumbent, and not as far off from the pulse of MO as many of y'all surmise. Too many people underestimate her strength as an incumbent.

Exactly! She is a fantastic Senator. She works with the Republicans with pleasure, has great integrity, and very clean for a politician.

She could well lose, but she won't be blanched. I always thought she would run a great race and lose narrowly under a Clinton presidency. Under a Trump presidency, who knows?

No, not really. She won in 2006 (when MO was still a swing state) in a Democratic wave year against a Republican who was seen as out of touch with the state and a Bush lackey through-and-through and who ran a poor campaign. In 2012, another Democratic wave year, her opponent ran a campaign so bad that several statewide Republican officeholders and former Senators called for him to step down because he was losing a very winnable race. Since then, she has been bragging about how she manipulated the GOP primary, how she loves Hillary Clinton and she's even made some incendiary SJW-esque comments. Unless the MO GOP nominates another joke, I'd be shocked if she even came close to Kander's showing in 2016. She'll be target no. 1. McCaskill has none of the advantages Jason Kander had but she has all the weaknesses that Roy Blunt had/has.

Heitkamp, Tester and even Donnelly will be far harder to take down. I'd rate MO "Likely R" and IN "Lean R" at this point, but all the other red state Democrats are definitely Tossup races IMO.

What is with your irrational hatred of McCaskill?

I just prefer someone whose politics are closer to mine hold that seat... like Ann Wagner, an even stronger woman. Smiley But Jimmie, you and I can agree that it is too early to predict many of these races. That alone should be enough to prove that TN Volunteer and I are NOT the same person, BTW.

That post was aimed at TN volunteer. You responded to it as if you were the one being talked to.

Totally not a sock.

Even given his tendency to give incumbents the benefit of the doubt, these are still laughable. ME is only Lean D, but ND is Likely D!?
