And they just keep dying.  2016 is just such a sh**t year.

Rest in peace, John Glenn.

I met him once when he visited my school about 5 years ago with the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Dan Shapiro. He seemed full of energy and was very kind to us and interested in the unique cultural diversity of the school. RIP.

Rest in Peace John Glenn. One of America's greatest. Ohio lost two of its best Senators this year.

I wish we had u.s. senators like that. The dude was an electoral superstar - he got over 60% in three of his elections (though only won by 8-9 in 1992 for some reason).

Served in the marines in WWII and Korean war.  1st astronaut to orbit earth in 1962.  U.S. senator.  Presidential candidate in 1984.  We don't elect men of this caliber to the presidency anymore.

Technically, we didn't in 1984 either.

Still surprised the Democrats didn't think a former Marine/astronaut widely regarded as a national hero was their best bet against Reagan in '84
