Discuss.

Fair weather Democrat or trolling?

I have been thinking carefully about the election results all month. I will try to be as succinct as possible. The Democratic party is in unacceptably poor shape with no clear path back. There is no point in being in an irrelevant party if you want to have a say in American politics. I will represent the pro-choice, anti-war, centrist wing of the GOP. And yes, I have switched my support to Trump. Good luck, Bernie Bros. The ship is yours.

What pro-choice, anti-war wing? That's like being a member of the pro-EU, pro-immigrant wing of UKIP.

It's alright if Clintonistas might have... slightly compromised the party's integrity.  Our factional, compartmentalized hull makes the SS Democrat nigh UNSINKABLE!!!

Let's not fight stupidity with stupidity.  Something like 27% of Republicans are pro-choice ... far more significant than the number of socially (or fiscally, for that matter) Democrats, I'd imagine.  They're just, for better or for worse (guessing most would say worse), not too hung up on it.

Thanks!

And yes, the Republicans haven't nominated a genuine pro-lifer for president since 2008, and he lost in a landslide. Pro-choice Republican should be nothing unusual.

Ron Paul isn't exactly pro-choice nor is he centrist.

Not RINO but here is one.
http://www.gallup.com/poll/183434/americans-choose-pro-choice-first-time-seven-years.aspx
Here is a graph from the article

So Tom is wrong in a certain respect.  He underestimated the total number of Pro Choice Republicans.

What percentage of Atlas's self-identified Republicans (who are actually eligible to vote....meaning over 18 and US citizens) actually voted for Trump?  Seems like it's got to be a lot lower than the 88% of Republicans who did so nationally (if you believe the exit poll).

Though I guess Atlas's Republicans don't match the demographics of Republicans in the general electorate.
