Option 4 I guess, since Thatcher was less of a socon, and I'm not sure if she gutted the safety net to the same extent as Reagan.

Both were awful though.

Thatcher was the only leader in history who consistently made a moral, intellectual case for individualistic conservatism. Reagan is largely responsible for doing the literal opposite.

Reagan was better on foreign policy and national security issues.
Thatcher was better on economic, social and domestic issues.

Voted for Reagan.

You think conservatism should just be an emotional reaction?

I used to be firmly in the Thatcher camp, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but lately, together with my leftward shift on socio-economic issues, I've realized how much her policies have contributed to the problems the working class and the lower middle class are experiencing right now. Especially the way she talked and thought about the working class has disturbing elements in it. Voted Reagan.

Reagan I suppose. Mostly because I think Thatcher's brand of conservatism was more learned and therefore evil, Reagan was just a dumb B-grade actor who had vague views about "socialism = bad!" When both are scum, go for the less intellectual one.

Regan hated the poor way less, and was less of a god awful human being, with still having awful policies, that have caused a wave of neo-liberalism, fycking the poor, manufacturing, jobs and the working class, and viola then you have Trump.

Just ugh.

Would probably have to go with Reagan actually. His policies weren't really anti-poors in intention necessarily.

Going with Reagan. Though Reaganism has become just awful, he did some ok things. Thatcher was just brutal to the working man.

The New Zealand Labour government of the 1980s was probably more brutal from an economic POV than either of these actually.

While I might respect Thatcher more intellectually--read any description of the Reagan White House; geez--in terms of policy, I have to go with the Gipper. And this has only somewhat to do with abortion.
