Bonus seats? Hahaha, that will almost certainly backfire.

it would maybe save the country on the long-run from eternal fpö- or "groko"-governments.

Yes, it sounds sensible in an Austrian context.

Would ski masks and balaclavas be allowed?

Depends if you are on the slope or not ... Tongue

Anyway, it would be pretty stupid to ban ski masks ... in Austria (which is the home of skiing).

This proposed facial veil ban seems to be pretty half-baked to me, and we'll have to see if it will actually become law.

The Norwegians would beg to differ.

On another topic, I find it odd that no pollster so far has tested by how much the ÖVP's polling numbers would explode with Sebastian Kurz as their leader ...

What's so great about this kid?

Hol' up, Austria. If we have all elections this year, the coming three years will be incredibly boring.
Right? But we'd have Canada in 2019 and a handful of the nordics too.

Sweden is in 2018

Sebastian Kurz installed Elisabeth Köstinger as the new ÖVP general secretary today.

Köstinger, currently a member of the European Parliament, is one of the closest associates of Kurz and also leader of the powerful Austrian farmers association.

She has been deputy leader of the farmer's association since 2009. Jakob Auer is still leader. According to German Wiki Werner Amon is still GS of ÖVP and Köstinger is deputy leader. Is that incorrect?

The SPÖ is going to sue the ÖVP and the ÖVP will sue the SPÖ ...

Ridiculous.

I'm going to revise up my prediction for the FPÖ by quite a bit because of this. SPÖVP down.

Could FPÖ finish first?
