None in Nevada? That's surprising. I guess that a lot of people who did not like the nominees voted "None of these candidates" instead of for a third party.

Johnson did well in central Indiana which makes sense. Upper middle class GOPers in places like the north side of Indianapolis, Hamilton, Boone, and Hendricks county couldn't stand Trump but also couldn't stomach voting dem. Plus the Indiana Libertarian party is pretty well organized and fields lots of local candidates.

Didn't know that Oklahoma is one of the country's most libertarian states. You live and learn...

Oklahoma's ballot only had Trump, Clinton, and Johnson. Johnson's high level of support may be due in part to protest votes.

What makes the Southeast so non-libertarian? A combination of blacks and evangelicals which prevents a massive spill on either side?

Social conservatism from both Blacks and Whites in the South. Marijuana legislation and abortion don't bode well with either racial group in Dixie. In addition, the conservatives in the South are bit more moderate economically than conservatives in other parts of the country.

The federal government is the reason many of them aren't living in third world conditions.

In a map with only two colors (not counting white), why pick two colors that are almost indistinguishable?

Or is this the thread where I find out I'm color blind?

I'm pretty sure Governor Johnson uses crack (or some drug) no matter what county he is in. Cheesy

I could also have gone with this:

Didn't know that Oklahoma is one of the country's most libertarian states. You live and learn...

Oklahoma's ballot only had Trump, Clinton, and Johnson. Johnson's high level of support may be due in part to protest votes.

Heh, Heh, you said 'high.'

My lame 'joking' aside, this is actually a completely unreported story in light of the continuing number of states that voted to outright legalize recreational marijuana, but 58% of the Okies from Muskogee (and elsewhere in the state) effectively voted in this election to decriminalize marijuana by turning possession of a small amount into a felony misdemeanor.

I think the people behind this initiative figured that their fellow Oklahomans were too conservative to vote in favor of outright legalization, but I also think that this vote is much more libertarian leaning the stereotypes of Oklahomans would lead people to believe.

I only found out about this because I've been going to the various Secretary of State (and Commenweath) websites to get the official Congressional vote totals and I saw this vote on the Oklahoma site.  I admit that I was genuinely surprised reading this vote.

STATE QUESTION NO. 780 INITIATIVE PETITION NO. 404
1956 of 1956 Precincts Completely Reporting

FOR THE PROPOSAL    831,123   58.23%
AGAINST THE PROPOSAL 596,070 41.77%

This measure amends existing Oklahoma laws and would change the classification of certain drug possession and property crimes from felony to misdemeanor. It would make possession of a limited quantity of drugs a misdemeanor. The amendment also changes the classification of certain drug possession crimes which are currently considered felonies and cases where the defendant has a prior drug possession conviction. The proposed amendment would reclassify these drug possession cases as misdemeanors.

Too bad this wasn't initiative petition No. 420.

I didn't even notice there were supposed to be two other colors there.

I just went to my eye doctor two weeks ago and was tested for color blindness in addition to my regular examination and I received a clean bill of health.

I see it clearly those in NM, but the one +10% county in SD isn't really visible, yes.

My bad.

Well, I for one forgive you, if only because I'm a big fan of Pere Ubu. So, I'd walk the high wire for you.

Still, we have the technology to do better.
