the following people have moderate to high interest level

EarlAW
KillerPollo
John F. Kennedy
SamSpade

NOT INTERESTED:
ColinWixted
LiberalPA
Gabu
Ilikeverin
Emsworth

I suggest we start by asking each of them if they are interested or not.

So I'll go ahead and do that.

To everyone on the list are you interested in the position?

The Japanese ambassador to the UN is named Keiji Fujino Smiley

Here's a picture of him:

As you can see, he bears an uncanny resemblance to Hiroshi Nakada, Mayor of Yokohama (where he happens to be from, coincidentally), but rest assured he is not the same person Smiley

Hooray for Japan!

What they said.

Anyway, I think I'll be playing this like Pawns of Power (remember that? Smiley)... moderate-strong roleplaying, staying 'in character' and actually developing a character that does not have the same aspirations as me (though he'll have similarities so it's not impossible), etc.

I'll also be attatching an annoying signature to all my posts here Smiley

The Iranian people (and most certainly not in a decision simply made by one guy at the top) have chosen as their ambassador a man named Bali Khimanei:

He bears a striking resemblance to Ali Khamenei, but he is most definitely not Ali Khamenei, and if you feel otherwise, then Allah will strike you down in a most righteous fashion, so please do not anger Allah.

The ambassador from Japan (or is it representative of Japan?  I don't know proper UN naming procedure) would like to note that the decision to use that name probably did not take nearly as much effort as it took to choose the Japanese ambassador's name.

The ambassador from Iran would like to note that the Grand High Ayatollah of Iran is not familiar with Arabic naming conventions because it distracts from his duties of praising Allah and hating the Great Satan, and thus did not have the resources handy to come up with an original name, praise be to Allah nonetheless.

I'll jump on the bandwagon!

The people of Germany have chosen:

Adolf Schmitler!

A tall man from Illinois,Germany, he is a rising star in German politics, mainly for his strong stance on expanding Germany.

The Indian Delegation will be headed by Dr. Rahul Gandhi, who belongs to the Gandhi political family and holds a Ph.D., a D.Litt., and an LL.D. He is in short very well educated, as is stereotypical of the country.

If any nation comes into the Japanese Delegate's personal office, a plate of Nym-san's cookies await Smiley (though they stay in the office, please)

The Delegate would also like to note he has all the things Dr. Gandhi has, plus he received the degrees 50% more efficiently Tongue

Is there a way I can still join?  I would be semi-active in it though.

If I can I would like to represent Qatar (my last nation in an MUN conference).

Dr. Gandhi has received his degrees from a much more reputable university than the Japanese Delegate.

I present to you the Israeli delegate, Solomon Ben Yakar:

Please do not confuse him with his sixth cousin once removed, Benjamin Netanyahu.

Why are you asking me? It's Solomon who you should ask. And no, Solomon Ben Yakar is not interested at this time.

AWESOME!

As for me... The people of the Mexican Republic have chosen

Ambassador "don" Palpatino Fox Madrazo (made the name up after the current president, and the PRI's possible candidate for the 2006 election)
Little does everyone know that Palpatino is a leader of a satanic cult that is involved in politics. He is also rumored to have been involved in the Skull-and-Bones secret society.
