I knew that Alan had a son that did pop music named Robin that was kind of famous.  My wife said I knew one of his songs just from existing in the US so she played it for me.  Blurry Lines maybe?  I guess I had heard it before, or at least bits of it.  It sounded like the start of a song over and over.  My SJW daughter thinks it's "rapey" I guess, idk.  Seemed boring and repetitive (why does somebody have to go "WOOOOO!" every 8 seconds?) to me.

Along with aforementioned dad from Growing Pains (churchy Kirk Cameron's show....had a friend named Boner....yep), Alan also wrote a mess of a TV show theme songs, the two big ones being Fact's of Life and Different Strokes.

Thicke of the night!  I remember that from the 11th grade.  Apparently I was the only one who ever watched it, because it got cancelled after one season.

Gilbert Gottfried sings the theme song on his podcast about once a month, it was the first thing I thought of when I heard he had died.

Wow I almost forgot about that.  Yeah, you were the only one that watched, brother.  Wink

Just saw one on TV. Felt really weird. I didn't grow up with him on TV, but my mom and grandmother loved him, so I'm more than familiar with his impact.
