Check out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_House_of_Representatives_elections,_2016
It shows the total votes for Republican Congressional candidates at 61,483,071 and for Democratic Congressional candidates at 58,255,286, a margin of 3,227,785 votes in favor of the GOP.
The spread sheet cited seems to be accurate as of Nov 23. It does total up all the party votes in the Louisiana jungle primary, which probably helps the Republican total somewhat. This is not the case for other jungle primary states, though those events are not held on the general election date.
In the Wikipedia page on Senate results, there is an impressive Democratic margin, 40,273,424 - R and 51,092,983 - D, a Democratic advantage of 10,819,559 votes. This is nearly wiped out if you remove Loretta Sanchez vote totals and shift them (questionably) to the GOP side of the ledger.
I welcome any alternative totals or methods of computing the party vote totals and accompanying results!
