If someone of the minority party wins one of those row offices, just accept it and move on... thats just my opinion.

Exactly. No party is entitled to elected offices, not in California nor in Wyoming, or North Carolina. Between support for the two parties, NC is basically split. Republicans really have no standing to claim that it's only legitimate for Republicans to have power (and make no mistake, their actions for the past 6 years have essentially implied this).

And what it shows is that politicians are judged on a two tiered system.   If a Democratic caucus tried to pull something like this the Republicans would go absolutely bananas over it.

This isn't uncommon. Democrats are doing this in Illinois as well. Madigan's goal has always been to make sure that Rauner is a one-termer.

This is uncommon in a first world democracy.  It's also pathetic.  But I'm hardly surprised.  When one party has a voter base of uneducated angry poor people, this is what results.

Trump voters make more money than hillary voters. They are far more useful too.

Well, one end would be national defense. Military voters went for Trump over nasty by a 26 point margin. The Makers overwhelmingly voted for Mr. Trump!

Clinton won some incredibly wealthy areas and that is where some of the biggest swings were. Trump had big swings in poorer areas. Clinton won the 6th largest economy in the world. Who are really the makers? I don't think it's Trump Country, which gets more back from the federal government than it puts in.

None of us, in the end, are "makers", especially with a capital M.

Normally this would go straight to the BPG, but seeing as I am a Cooper supporter, can't really do that for a post from this specific thread without looking hypocritical. If you care about not seeing your posts in the BPG, consider yourself lucky.

But if you were a McCrory supporter, wouldn't your powerful endorsement have swung the election to him, thus rendering this thread moot?

Wulfric never made a bold public endorsement of Cooper like he did Fayard, Dardenne, and Kirk. That's the only reason this was even close. Just three or four bold sentences and Cooper would have carried North Carolina in a landslide, winning as a write-in for Senate in North Carolina, and winning as a write-in for President in North Carolina and Minnesota, at the least.

Since this thread is already active, I'll post it here:

Judge halts the power transfer to the new state school superintendent

I believe this is actually Republicans suing as well, since the legislature is trying to take power away from them and centralize it with an office the GOP just won.

I just posted this in my voting rights lawsuit thread as well:

Judge puts NC GOP elections board makeover on hold after Roy Cooper sues

Since this fight over the election/ethics board(s) will significantly impact early voting opportunities in the 2017 and 2018 elections, it seems fit to be here.

So the election/ethics board power grab law is also on hold.

I'm still wondering if/when they intend to challenge the entire special session that these laws originated from. Perhaps after each law is challenged individually?
