In the last year we've seen the country's federal police force and spy agencies erupt in open feuding, with the police accused of favoring one party and the spy agencies favoring the other party. Their leaders appear to act independently with no backing or direction from the WH. First, Comey. Now the CIA leaks. Obama has lost control of his government. They are a bunch of independent fiefdoms operating on their own with no control from the top. It's as if we have no president. Obama has been a weak kneed failure, does anyone here, Dem or Rep, honestly believe Trump would allow something like this to happen? Trump is a strong leader.

Agreed! He is a big BIG failure - Great speaker, nice guy, so scandals like Hillary & isn't a fraud like Hidddawg either. But he is a weak guy & a complete failure, led the DNC to ruin & has accomplished little as President.

Beet's a Republican for the same reason people become Patriots/Yankees/Warriors fans. Just as annoying about it too.

And it has popped up in all of our minds but most of us just KCCO-ish and carry on. It usually works out. If the alternative seems to be to be to go along with hypernormalization, "giving up" is on the table but there are other options.

No, he is not generally a weak leader. He got things done, especially at the homefront, even with a hostile congress for the most time of his presidency. That he drove a line in the sand in Syria was a bad mistake, but staying out with the military was the correct decision. Especially by taking the experiences of other middle-east adventures into consideration, which proved to be a disaster. It was also a mistake to support the so-called rebels, of whom many were or became radicals. It’s not just ISIS in Syria, you also have al-nusra and other jihadists. The West also totally underestimated the Assad regime and Russia’s strategic interests in the that region. And the administration blindly believed that once the dictator is removed, it would become a democracy by western standards. I detest Assad, but if he were removed without a real alternative (which I don’t see), the radical islamists would take over large portions of Syria; a country were several religions, including Christians, once lived peacefully together. So, the mistake was the line in the sand itself, not the refusal to respond militarily. An intervention would have made things even worse and only cost us many lives and a lot of money. Money, that we better use for humanitarian aid in the region for those who need it.

This is a weaker thread.

Ask bin Laden if Obama is a weak leader. Wink

Seeing as how he's had to deal with disrespectful obstructionist Republicans throughout much of his presidency, I'd say he's done a pretty good job.

I dont think those issues are Obama.

We just live in a more open media world where everything.can be filmed, leaked and tweeted.

And that changes the culture of the CIA and Police enormously.

As for Obama, he led well in very difficult circumstances from start to finish.

Obama did send a whole lot of gold to Iran as tribute and to get those captured sailors out. He is weak in his dealings especially with countries like Iran.
