Wish King posted more often, what are the coalitions like in New Mexico local politics?  Pretty "nationalized"?

He made an A1 post about the upcoming gubernatorial race on AAD; if you have an account, you should surely check it out.

From what I gather, Grisham, despite being fairly milquetoast, is likely the Democratic frontrunner (for now, at least); Javier Gonzales, Mayor of Santa Fe, is also mulling a run, and if he enters the fray, he'd be well positioned to win the general election. Gonzales is handsome (almost like a Mexican Ben Affleck of sorts), gay, and solidly progressive, and if he wins, he'll surely be a player on the national stage. ABQ Mayor Richard Berry would be the heavy favorite in the Republican primary if he runs, and would be far-and-away the best candidate for the GOP to hold the governor's mansion next cycle.

Certainly do!  Stopped checking it because I realized I never had anything good to say, haha.
