4 years if he doesn't stick to some of his campaign pledges during his turn. Democrats may not attract new voters, but Republican turnout will lowen among Trump supporters in '16 and therefore the democrats will take back many swing states.

Also, Trump could be impeached. He has already shown a lack of regard to the law and the Constitution. He is scandal-prone, and already historically unpopular. There are his conflicts of interest and other scandals. Allan Lichtman, the professor who predicted Trump's win based on his scientific model, has also predicted his impeachment.
Why does the fact that Lichtman's model has finally been discredited give him credence?

He predicted Trump's win, and so did other scientific, fundamentals-based models.

The GOP has no long term future unless it can reach out to minorities & mostly young people. More young people come in & the electorate will only be getting more diverse.

6 of the last 7 times Dems want the popular vote, this time with more than 3M votes. On the long term there is no future for the GOP at the presidential level.

Trump was lucky to run against Hillary. Dems will get a decent candidate & Trump will face a big loss!

I think if Trump stays unpopular then he will likely to lose re-election and also on top of that if dems nominate someone like Tulsi Gabbard or Kamala Harris.

Hopefully it's only 4 years (or possibly less due to impeachment).

I would more likely a impeachment with mike pence or kanye west running as gop nomination then loses the general election.

He is model predicted Trump would win the popular vote. That did not happen, so his model was discredited. (also calling the 13 keys "scientific" would be really, really, really, really, really, really, really stupid, even if they held up this year)

Didn't the model flip when he thought Hillary lost the incumency advantage?

I don't think so? I don't recall Hillary ever being president, so I'm not sure why she'd have that?

i think Pence becomes president before the end of the first term

Yup. I also think Pence has good odds of winning in 2020

Mike Pence is the ideology of Donald Trump with an air of fundamentalist Christian piety. He is Gerald Ford without the geniality and capacity for compromise.

Donald Trump is definitely not JFK except for womanizing and Mike Pence is not LBJ... unless America undergoes mass conversion to right-wing Christian Protestant fundamentalism, Mike Pence will offend the sensibilities of too many Americans to win a free and fair election.

We have an even bigger question to ask: will the 2020 elections be free and fair? Or will they be like those of Commie states in which people get to vote but have no meaningful choice?

I don't think Trump will run in 2020.  He hates losing and he's not going to risk losing a race.  He will retire as a winner.
