The gunman apparently committed another homicide in Zurich a few days ago and shot himself after the attack on the mosque. The police reported he was a Swiss citizen of Ghanaian origin. All of the victims at the mosque are Somalian.

The police say they have evidence the man was entangled in occultism but his exact motives are far from clear at this point.

Yes, it can get a lot worse.

Large-scale attacks with WMDs (by terrorists or governments) is one, and I can think of more.
