Anything with Duckworth and Edwards is good in this situation.

Franken or Sherrod Brown on the top of the ticket, Harris or Cortez Masto or Duckworth as VP.

This, and most emphatically not flipped tyvm. Harris would be way to SJWy against an above water Trump. She cannot and will not win back the rural midwest.

Black turnout would be a likely counterweight to that. No way would she do worse than Hillary, Kerry, or Gore in that regard.

And since pretty much no one on the D side could contest Hillary on artificiality, the odds of Trump making even more significant gains with his base are nil, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania would be liable to flip with all the cards played right.

That said, the risks are far greater banking on that.

Kamala Harris / Sherrod Brown would essentially recreate the Obama / Biden ticket by having a charismatic African American liberal and a white working class Democrat on the ticket. I think that would be an excellent ticket that could drive up turnout among coastal/urban whites and minorities while also reaching out to the white working class.

Sherrod Brown is white working class? Or do you mean that in a cultural sense? (whatever that would mean...)

He appeals to the white working class in the same way that Joe Biden does.

VP picks are overrated in terms of impact on the ticket. The campaign itself is more important in the long run. That's why Clinton picking Kaine wasn't fatal; what it said about her campaign was. It's also going to be tougher for any Dem to compete among WWC in 2020 than it was for Obama, given the likely competition (unless his approval rating is low enough that it doesn't matter).

Booker/ Brown

Booker's charismatic and friendly enough, while appealing to African Americans and younger voters.

Brown helps with the anti-Wall Street crowd, while adding an older white guy to the ticket.

Gilibrand could also do pretty well.

Nobody can beat Trump in 2020. He will likely run virtually unopposed (meaning without any serious opposition).
