I'm getting a tad sick of being told how politically correct I am whenever I say "Native American."  It's not because of respect, but rather because "Indian" is too confusing and I like how "Native American" sounds better than "American Indian," although I use both.  Sometimes anti-PCers are more adamant about complaining about use of "Native American" than PCers are about "Indian," which seems...rather politically correct to me.

Just a short rant.
"Sometimes"? I get the feeling that the correct phrase you're looking for is "as a rule". Smiley

Yep I 100% agree

Yep, also correct.

Like I said before, I lived on a Reservation, and most of them there did not care about the term "Indian" and did not find it offensive. It's not a matter of PCness in me not liking it, but accuracy.

Hawaii should become an independent nation.
I just cant cope w/ travelling 3000 miles on sea and still be in the US.
All i'm saying is that it'd be better off as a country of its own.

Not without the US tourists and navy bases it wouldn't be.

I support keeping it due to the 2 safe Senate seats, 2 safe Hosue seats and 4 safe EVs. I'd support Alaskan independence though.

You're willing to increase your cost of living just to get rid of some political competition?  Now that makes no sense to me.

Same as KillerPollo said...you could still get the fuel out if Alaska were nominally independent.

Btw, what I meant, Pollo, was: If it weren't for the navy bases and the tourists, most people in Hawaii would probably figure the same. If these weren't there, there probably wouldn't be a benefit to Hawaii in belonging to the US rather than being independent.
