Opinion of the year 2016

Politically an obvious HY. How it was personally is a question that I can not answer. I had some of the worst times in my life this year, but I've grown so much, I've become a much more mature person this year. I'd hate to go back to last year just because of that. There have been some good times as well, interpersonal relationships forming (and getting complicated early-mid may, funny trivia. I registered in late march, but made only 2 posts on the forum before the aforementioned complication happened. A month and a half later), and finding this forum.

Aside from the presidential election, it was mostly a Freedom Year politically.  It was good personally too, but not as good as some years.

Lean HY on both counts. The disaster that is Donald J. Trump was somewhat redeemed by Johnson tripling the LP record and Ron Paul getting an EV.

Kind of rough, personally.  Lost a friend of mine to a sudden heart attack around June.  Even so, I had a lot of personal growth this year, IMHO.  I'll call 2016 a neutral year.

I'd be inclined to agree with you, but for different reasons.  Trump's election was offset by the GOP taking Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin in the presidential contest (you could say that Charlie Brown finally got to kick the football), holding the Senate (despite the defeat of Kirk and Ayotte), and winning a majority of New England governors.

Horrible Year, personally and politically. I lost my dad on Thursday and Trump is our President elect. I just want this year to be over already.

Beyond per adventure, the best year of my life. And that a map I drew actually become law, and by 69% of the vote in a certain city with which perhaps you might be familiar, still just gobsmacks me. Now I am ruminating about drawing maps for my county, and restructure its governance from top to bottom, dysfunctional place that it is when it comes to the public square,  but I digress.

Malcolm Turdbull, Donald Trump being elected, two HPs. One of the only good things politically this year was Hofer not being elected.
