He isn't the first hip-hop artist to be inducted, he was a cultural icon, and eventually, the RNRHOF will run out of actual rock and roll bands to induct, but they need to keep the doors open.

ELO by far, but also Joan Baez and Journey.

Pearl Jam too I guess since they are so popular, but the only song of there's I ever liked was "Last Kiss", it was good but not great.

Why should a rap musician be in a rock and roll hall of fame (as petty and laughable as it is) though? If Tupac should get in then why not award Mozart, Earl Scruggs, and Sinatra the same honor?

Pearl Jam, but they are all worthy except Journey, which is debatable. Nile Rodgers should have been inducted with Chic. Also most music historians consider Hip-Hop to be an offshoot of rock and roll just like Punk, Funk, Prog, Metal, etc, so 2pac and all other Hip-Hopers fit.

Nope, me either. Jaco Pastorious should be allowed in, I guess. My best friend worships him as a God (he's a very talented bass player) and my dad coincidentally went to High School with him and is friends on FB with his surviving brother. Used to play at parties that my dad attended in the early 1970s.

By the 1980s, Joni freaking Mitchell wanted to pay him a million dollars to conceive a "genetically perfect genius" child while my dad was living in a shack and blowing his money on coke. Ironically, Jaco ended up getting beaten to death and my dad is slowly but surely building his way up to the million dollar mark in the next decade. Who is laughing now?

(I shouldn't use that last quote, it's rather negative in it's connotation-Jaco was nothing but awesome and my dad considered him sort of a friend even though they never saw each other again after like 1972).
