Jesus, easily. He wasn't some gun toting, capitalist, nationalist with an authoritarian personality like most of his American followers. Charles Darwin, while I undeniably concur with his theories (and no, he wasn't some radical social Darwinist), was more preoccupied with biology than any social or economic matters. His values probably most closely aligned with those of 19th century England - no thanks.

Assuming that Jesus didn't actually think he was God (in a non-pantheist way), then Jesus.

Jesus's teachings are actually a logical thing to follow given an enlightened intrepretation of the facts about nature that Darwin had observed.

Wasn't Charles Darwin himself a Christian?

Wasn't Charles Darwin himself a Christian?

Charles Darwin was raised a Christian and practiced for much of his life. After watching his daughter die tragically, he came to the conclusion that a benevolent God would not allow such suffering and became an Agnostic (or Atheist depending on their exact definitions). He did, however, maintain that there was nothing contradictory about Christianity and evolution.

I mean I see the issue with the rest but whats wrong with "gun toting"?

Identity politics. Having grown up and lived all of my life around such people, I don't deny possessing a bias against them in general. That doesn't mean all people who own a gun are perceived negatively (by me), only that those in that general gun loving culture are.

Identity culture is just as gay on the right as it is on the left. Probably more so. Maybe less cartoonishly ridiculous but at least as cartoonish.
By the way. I forgot. Jesus. Like I said, Darwin's main idea is that the world was different and will change again and organisms adapt to the change. Shouldn't we then watch out for the currently "less fit" in society, so there are those left to adapt once the "fit" are felled by change? The meak may inherit the Earth and society has an interest in perserving them so society may survive.

That is a practical application of both teachings and doesn't do justice to either, but still...

Darwin (R), the one who didn't cause my people to be persecuted over and over again.

Darwin is actually winning with Republicans in this poll and Jesus with Democrats, wow.

Yeah there was a good chunk of time between the life of Christ and the persecution of Jews by Christians.
