Okay, since this requires two-thirds, 48 hours for voting

Nay. On the grounds that I believe that the draft, while being a heinous and injust practice if used in wars that are such obvious violations of the freedoms of those that live there and not being out of our own self defense, may be and should be considered in actual heroic calls to arms like those in World War Two. This idea, while I completely understand the premise, is dangerous to our ability to adequately defend ourselves in times of war.

Due to the new Congress, I will allow for an extended period of 24 hours for this bill, for those who have not voted.

Okay, this passes with a bare majority of 6-2... Remember as a Constitutional Amendment this need 2/3rds vote (4 votes in the senate if you're keeping track at home kids).

The striking of the line in beginning of the text, could render prison terms unconstitutional.

Prison is a form of involuntary servitude.

Completely agree. This bill was not as well worded and cut out key parts of constitutional provisions that were there for a reason. I do hope the Senate helps put an end to it.
