Donald Trump is holding a government casting call. He’s seeking ‘the look.’

I've been saying it's reality tv, and this is The Apprentice - Cabinet.

His whole arc is going to be like this, until he's dead or ousted.

Just wait until he decides he wants a war backdrop.

Is there really any better way to select government secretaries and department heads than a beauty contest? Perhaps they should create a reality show and have them all compete for the crown of some coveted position. I'm sure we'd all like to hear what the next Secretary of State's most passionate issue is.

Little hair to accompany little hands, clearly making picks as compensation. Sad!

I would never pick someone who had facial hair. Utterly disgusting. All policies should ban it.

It's almost terrifying how much I have in common with a northern European man. Who knew!

If a woman can't be president, at least she can hold a cabinet position

He also considers himself a "cowboy philosopher" and can apparently converse on anything from Socrates to cowboy poetry, to the intricacies of weedwhacking.

Unfortunately, when he ran for a Salt Lake County Council seat in 2014, he was defeated by a member of a prominent political family here in Utah, and has since retired from politics.

I see we're still under the delusion Trump picks people based on sound analysis and - well, all I need to say is Secretary Ben Carson, Pyramids Builder Since 2017, don't I?

I think Secretary Rick Perry of the Department of Oops would be more persuasive. But both get the same point across.

Please tell me this is a joke. I don't expect much from Trump, but this is too much, even for him. This has to be some sort of prank.

Another such story: Daily Caller reports Bob Corker's shortness was a "key factor" in Trump not picking him.

Apparently it is possible for Trump to be even more insane than anyone could have imagined.

I think I've been telling everyone he was going to be this nuts for a while.

"Trump is an incompetent, insane, con-artist, so make sure you elect me instead" ought not be a difficult campaign. But Hillary appears to be well on her way to making it one.

My takeaway from this is, again,  that TrumpMillerBarron is insane. Not "I really don't like his politics" insane, but "suffering cognitive impairment to the point that he can barely speak coherently" insane.

The first rule of surviving an autocracy is believe the autocrat.

That includes admitting that when he says or does insane things, it's because he really is insane. Hoping that Trump will act sane now that he's won is somewhere between denial and magical thinking.

Some of you tools would be crying henny-penny if Trump picked Bolton, and so would I. This is getting embarrassing.

The difference is that most of us didn't want Bolton because he's an unstable hawk who has little regard for the stability of the world beyond the United States. Trump didn't want him because of his mustache.

Somehow, Bolton is a step up from Rex Tillerson. At least Bolton has SOME experience. I wouldn't mind John Bolton to take on the UN at the very least. Rex Tillerson? Now we're just groveling before Moscow for their approval.

Not quite. Tillerson will cut deals with Moscow - for the benefit of himself, his company, and his fellow plutocrats. The public and country will be things to be traded.
