This article talks primarily about the Governor race, but at the bottom it touches the Congressional races. Both Hagedorn and Hughes, who narrowly lost their races last month, will run again in 2018.

I'd say both would lose rematches against the incumbents, but if either retires/runs statewide, Hagedorn and Hughes are both favored. I think Hughes is trying to set himself up as Peterson's successor when he retires (unless he defeats him).

if Peterson retires I doubt Hughes gets the primary field to himself - the guy is a far right-ertarian who Republicans let through cause they weren't expecting to actually fight for Peterson's seat. It's like if West Virginia Republicans just let god damn John Raese get the field to himself whenever Manchin retires - it's not gonna happen.
