In 1960 Gore Vidal ran and narrowly lost the election to New York 29th District. Not long afterwards in 1965 his ideological opposite, William F. Buckley, ran for Mayor of New York City and lost. If these two candidates won their elections and ran for President in 1968, who would win?

Buckley narrowly wins, as McGovern wins MN, ND, SD, and potentially WI.
