Happy/Merry Christmahanukkwanzolidays! And to those of you who choose to get offended by people wishing you well (in a way that you don't approve of, for some reason) may you be quadruply offended and butthurt by this greeting.

I'm enjoying the brief hiatus between morning and afternoon activities. We stayed home this year with our children home to visit. My son and daughter were in charge of breakfast and put together a nice french toast casserole with a side of bacon, while I contributed our traditional beverage of OJ and gin. Staying home also let us help out the church choir which normally doesn't sing on Christmas (Christmas Eve is the big service), but since it was Sunday we sang the classic a capella Caroling, Caroling by Alfred Burt. With our daughter we made up 30% of the singers since only a third of the choir was available.

The rest of the morning was gifts around the tree. Cubs swag abounded for the kids. My wife got a new knife set and veggie slicer. My daughter made me a beautiful quilt of a stylized elephant, and I got some nice wine accessories.

When I finish posting this I'm on to prepare dinner. I'm making a beef rib roast with a soy-ginger-garlic rub. It will be accompanied by fried jasmine rice and shallots, honey ginger carrots, and a red cabbage-parsley slaw that has been marinating overnight. I have a nice 2005 Brunello di Montalcino from my cellar to decant and serve. For desert we have an almond-orange torta that's really a giant cookie, and I'll roast some pineapple slices and make a sweet sauce to along with them.

Krampus has nothing to do with Christmas really.

Krampus is the companion of St. Nicholas (December 6).

American Dad told me Krampus had everything to do with Christmas. You think I'd believe you instead ? Roll Eyes

Americans have no clue about the tradition of Krampus.

Besides, Krampus works in tandem with St. Nicholas around St. Nicholas Day, which is 3 weeks before Christmas: St. Nicholas delivering the gifts and Krampus trying to find out which kid was naughty over the past year.

And since we believe in Christkind delivering the christmas presents and not St. Nicholas, it's even more outrageous that Krampus would have anything to do with Christmas.

This is only a distorted version of things by the clueless American and non-central European media.

I was going to say "happy holidays", but all these people expressing their holiday wishes in nonsecular ways has made me realize that I don't have to listen to all the PC BS telling me to suppress my religious beliefs.

Have a wonderful Satan day, everyone.

Despite my best efforts to put the holiday on ignore, I don't wholly succeed in that.

You mean:

I'm with you, bro.
