I saw this question for Obama 8 years ago, and thought we should make one for Trump now.

I think Trump is a higher risk higher reward president than Obama. Other than healthcare legislation, Obama had few large initiatives that he accomplished. He was most popular in his honeymoon phase and during the final year of his presidency once he stopped doing anything. Leftists love some of his positions and small moves but many of these were not even meaningful changes in policy but changes in attitude. Trump on the other hand is going to try to be bold and do big things. If he is successful, he has the potential to do some great things. On the other hand, if he fails he could cause many problems. Obama was very safe.

He would almost have to be at this point, but I'm sure he can surprise us and find new lows.

I believe that Trump will be able to get more done than Obama, considering Obama has not really done all that much in the last 8 years (yeah, he wasn't/isn't AWFUL, but he's not this godlike visionary liberals have painted him as).

Obama did little/no harm which is far more than I expect out of Trump.

No, he won't be. Obama is definitely the best president in decades.

Obviously, no. Obama had a major crisis and helped us recover. (Albeit a weak one). Trump has no major crisis like that coming in. Plus the whole losing the popular vote.

Better in which category? More conflicts of interest? Dividing the nation? Blowing the deficit? Deregulating Wall Street? Worsening our partnerships with other nations? Starting a trade war? Dishonesty at the White House? Mocking reporters? Yes, absolutely, in these categories he'll be a better president than Obama. No question about it.

I get that opinions are subjective and all, but I would seriously question the judgement and perspective of someone who considers Obama the worst president ever.

The Trump administration will certainly have more legislation passed ... whenever the GOP congress can actually get around to the trivialities of writing legislation.

By definition, Trump could for at least a little while be the best post-WW III President.

I generally agree with what you're saying. My perspective is that Trump could have some successes, like an infrastrucure bill or increased investor/buisness confidence. But, I think these will be outweighed by negatives. For example: healthcare reform problems, environmental neglect, risky foreign moves, and escalating racial/regional domestic tensions. In addition, it seems like we are due for a recession over the next 4 years.

For those reasons, I voted no. Stability is underrated.

The answer is probably yes, but that's an incredibly low bar.

Obama was pretty good at dividing the nation, worsening partnerships with other nations (Russia) and showing dishonesty in the white house (Benghazi).
