Hey guys! So a while ago Spamage (and some other people) ran "county annexation games"

The way it works is:

-You submit a "nation" beginning with one county (I'll show an example/my country soon)
-Every turn I roll two magic five-sided dice for each country. That country can then annex that many contiguous counties.
-If two (or more) countries claim the same county, an additional die will be rolled after the fact.
-Players can join at basically any time, but should understand that the later they join, the more of a disadvantage they will be at.

The People's Republic of Greater Atlanta

Starting County: Fulton, GA
Population: 1,010,562
Color: Dark Green

Good luck! Smiley

I'll probably get this rolling when we get 5 or 6 people, unless it fills up quick

Oh, forgot to say. The de facto goal is to get the most population Tongue

Hillsborough, FL. For the color, I'd like an aqua/turquoise the color of the Miami Dolphins.

If someone picks a county too close, I'll change.

Ugh, changing the rules on us. I'll move to Cook County, IL if we have a set goal like that.

Can we make a rule against picking counties in, say, nearby counties in bordering states unless there's more than, say, eight people?

Your county is in the middle of Georgia, and mine's in the middle of Florida. We should be fine. Wink

Oh, and to be clear, I'm assuming that also implies not to pick counties in the same state, for sure.

Also, I think it's more fun when we play just to play instead of focusing on the actual "objective." Indeed, the original rules never specify that that is the goal... But idk

Yeah, can you just get rid of the objective?

Sure. I'll still keep track though (why not). Might keep track of other things as well.

If you're keeping track it's still a goal...I'm just not sure what you're going for in this game anymore. Are we competing for something or what? I started by thinking we had to conquer everything, then you introduced the population rule, and now I just don't know.

In the words of the game's creator:

"Rules are simple: everyone starts with one US county and you should annex neighboring ones"
