^ I feel like we should not be doing that, though, for the reasons mentioned above.

In accordance with Gass's rules, these territories will be given after other players' turns are processed, to ensure the active player will have higher precedence. Not sure if that's what you meant though.

I do not think territories should automatically be given to inactive players because active players may wish to pursue those territories in future turns.

Lets have a vote on this next round. Going to do it at the end of this round, but we can make a decision for the next one.

Because you're deciding to do battle rolls during the turn of the conflict, you should disallow posters from changing their picks once rolls for their counties have taken place.

Agreed, once battle rolls have occurred you cannot change your claims, other than your granted exhausted counties.

What if there is a three-way county dispute? I'm thinking that might happen this turn so it wouldn't make sense to roll the die as soon as the first two parties enter the dispute.

That makes sense, I'll wait until the end.

Also, as the game progresses, perhaps counties hat have been completely encircled by one player should be given to that player automatically as no one else could possibly get them?

That would entirely change the pace and aim of the game though, and make it unfair to those who haven't really been as focused on encircling, or went ahead and filled theirs in as the Florida player did. Moves should still be expended to collect them as long as there are counties to claim.

I think i'm going to leave the game. I request that all of my claimed counties be turned back into unclaimed counties.

Personally I'm in favor of removing the nations of folks that want to quit.

An update will come later today.

Does anyone else have any opinions on what to do with nations that quit?

What do you think of what I said? Removing nations from the map will disrupt everyone's strategies and inevitably force the game to continue forever until one or two players control the whole map.

I get what you are saying and I think it would be applicable if everyone had a full and compact nation like Kinpoleon had down in Florida, but I don't know what you do with one like Dan's Redneck Empire without it looking really really ugly.

I said earlier that we can decide where to mark of Dan's oval in order to make it look right.

That would still look really ugly, also he asked that his nation be dissolved.

I'd vote that it stays, maybe rationalized a little bit and filled out.
