Secretary Shawshank sounds like my kind of girl Smiley

I'll take her.

Which of these do you think looks better for Lauren?

They're both 52 year old females Smiley

Okay, so we have ILV running Shawshank, DanielX running Russell's campaign, Kevin running Wilkie's campaign.

Dubya, you just got beat by DanielX, would you like to pick another candidate?

Yeah.  I guess I shouldn't have hit the "end" button.  I'll pick Governor Knight.

The Russell for President campaign is looking to hire someone with Photoshop or GIMP experience to design banners and print advertisements for both the primary and general election campaigns. Please post here or PM the Chief Advisor to Sen. Russell if you are interested.

I hate to complain, but it would be nice to be able to refuse an answer on questions like education, where not of the positions really fit me.

Additionally, "Do you support excessive and near-total gun control laws?" is a little biased...who supports excessive anything? Wink

Well, the idea is to differentiate between Dugan's views on guns and the rest of the Democratic pack.

oops, sorry. I mistook him for that other guy, the one in Missouri who defeated the dead congressman's wife. Sad

He's still Alan Russell, btw. Tongue

Alright, I'm just punishing the Kealty campaign for not complying.  Two more, and Kealty will be forced to withdraw from the race.

Candidates Stake Out The Political Compass

This week was a time for the Democratic and Republican Presidential candidates to flesh out their views on issues they've not been affiliated with, as seven of the eight candidates moved to solidify their base or to surprise supporters.

For example, nobody was really surprised when Professor George Wilkie fully embraced a 17% flat tax that starts taxing every dollar earned for all Americans.  The move solidified the candidate's support with hard-line isolationist conservatives, granting him the mantle of the old Buchanan Brigades.

Senator Alan Russell addressed a group of "green" Republicans in New Hampshire and fleshed out his views on the environment, where he managed to seperate himself slightly from the oil and logging industries that initially elected him to Congress.  The Missouri senator called for an end to federal subsidies for those industries, but recieved tepid applause.  Russell's handlers aren't worried, however, because environmentalists aren't exactly a core Republican voting block.

Meanwhile, moderate New Hampshire Governor Aslan Knight moved right to embrace a hard-line stand on education.  Pundits were surprised, considering the governor's opposition to the typical GOP hymnal on Social Security and taxes, but privately admitted the move might help shore up support for Knight amongst Southern conservatives, a necessary block for the nomination.

Meanwhile, at Rep. Dani Hermion's town hall meeting in Iowa, it was all fighting words.

"If we allow our nation to be lax and waver in our role as promoting democracy and the rights of all people around the globe, we would allow for our world to become a more dangerous place and threats to our nation would be increased.  We must fight and defeat the enemies of America and freedom abroad, or surely they will fight us at home," the candidate declared, surprising many of her more liberal backers, who had assumed the candidate's libertarian background lent itself to a more isolationist stance, akin to Professor Wilkie's.

(More news to come tomorrow, hopefully.)

Hey, part of being a libertarian Republican is knowing when you have to kick some tail and put that 2nd Amendment to good use.  Smiley  Also, isolationism is outmoded in the 21st century.  The "200ft high wall" style of thinking just won't work.
