BRIENNE

All things considered, Brienne of Tarth had seen her life take a dramatic turn over the past few weeks, and a large part of it felt like a dream come true. The news of King Robert and Prince Joffrey’s deaths had shaken her to the core, but it was in the even more shocking announcement that Lord Renly had been crowned King and sat the Iron Throne that Brienne saw, for the first time in long time, the light. Worried at first that her father might consider Lord Stannis as a more suitable claimant, surprises kept piling up as her father and herself were summoned to the capital along with the army and might of the Stormlords, most firmly behind their lord and now king. And she’d prepared her armour and then armed herself with stoic patience to stand the jests and jokes of knights and lords, and the ride towards King’s Landing had taken place. Riding ahead to enter the capital, Brienne found it to be absolutely outstanding.

-Long live King Renly! – She heard many in the smallfolk shout, to her joy –

Sure enough, those who believed in Stannis or Tommen existed too, but she could felt the smallfolk had finally realized who the best lord, and now monarch, was. They sensed Renly’s chivalry and deep sense of justice, and while there were many lords who would never accept him, they would never be able to best his popularity with the commoners. That alone reaffirmed Brienne on her purpose to serve Renly, and it was with barely concealed happiness despite the mockery and the jests in the streets and inside the Red Keep itself that she’d knelt in front of the King after the other Stormlords have payed due homage. With Robert’s crown firmly on his head, Brienne wondered if the tales of those who fought in the Rebellion were right, that is that Renly was the living image of young Robert Baratheon, the man whose charisma had kept the Seven Kingdoms together against the odds. Surely Renly would do ever better in uniting the realm.

-Brienne of Tarth. – He said, offering her a smile from the Iron Throne – You seem to be what your father has promises, and indeed, even more than that. –
-Thank you, your Grace. – Brienne repressed a smile –
-That is why I have decided to entrust you with a vital task. As you know, I am to marry Lady Margaery of House Tyrell. I want you, Lady Brienne, to serve as her personal bodyguard, and keep her safe from all harm.-
-Your Grace. – She rose her head –
-Will you perform this task for me, my Lady? –

It was no decision at all. Since Lady Margaery entered King’s Landing with her brother and father – the last one ridiculously dressed in full armour and a helmet with feathers -, Brienne had done her best to stand by her side and protect the new Queen at all times, from the wedding to her tours along the Red Keep as the days went by. Brienne was grateful the Queen was graceful and treated her courteously, even if the constant thoughts that went through her head left her with few positive thoughts towards the woman who now occupied such a place in her King’s life. It was not a task which fully displeased Brienne during the days, although the dreadful nights in which she saw the Queen enter the King’s bedchamber – followed by Ser Loras, who mayhaps thought himself invisible – were quite a task to overcome. She knew full well the King couldn’t and wouldn’t love her, but by serving him she felt content, even if it was serving the woman she felt a rival, even knowing it would never be thus.

-The King is missing, Brienne. –

It was Ser Guyard who’d approached her first that night, asking whether she’d seen the King lately and then confirming to her Renly was not to be found on his chambers or the usual spots. Brienne rose from his spot right away, and after being granted permission by Queen Margaery Brienne joined the Kingsguard knight in searching for Renly in the upper levels of the castle. Both knights felt an unnatural chill as the candles of one of the corridors went down one by one, and their sense of unease grew. The wind was blowing strong even inside the castle, and increasingly worried they began to walk faster, the sound of their armour and swords flooding the area and, for a moment, making it feel as if someone else was there. Soon they found a darkened balcony, the drapes moving in every direction thanks to an uncontrollable wind. Lying against a wall was Renly Baratheon, a pool of blood nearby as he’d been stabbed and had an open, gaping wound on his chest.

-Your Grace! – Both shouted in despair –

The knights knelt beside Renly as Brienne grasped his hand, Guyard looking in all directions for the assassins. Renly attempted to speak, only for blood to come out of his mouth and into the armours of his protectors. Brienne violently shouted to her companion to seek help, and Ser Guyard ran as fast as he could towards the corridors, shouting and screaming for the guard to arrive. Renly still wanted to talk, every effort draining more and more the life out of him. In complete despair Brienne tried to help him, helpless to stop the bleeding from such an enormous, malignant wound. Soon Renly tired from the effort to speak, and stopped struggling as Brienne gently took him on her arms. By the time Ser Guyard, Ser Loras and Lord Estermont dashed through the room with an armed guard and a few servants to carry Renly, the King had already passed away in the arms of her knight.

Brienne, covered in the blood and tears of her King, began to cry.

ROYAL PROCLAMATION TO THE LORDS OF WESTEROS

King Viserys the Third of His Name, last male issue of House Targaryen, crowned upon Dragonstone in the year of the usurpation, intends shortly to return and claim his birthright. Those who acknowledge him will be treated as friends, allies and counsellors. Those who defy him will meet steel and dragon flame.

Two Houses only can expect no royal pardon - those of Lannister and Frey, bywords alike for cruelty and treason.

Lord Eddard Stark and Lord Hoster Tully are pardoned for their crimes, but are to be succeeded by their sons with immediate effect. Edmure Tully, Robb Stark, and Robin Arryn are no more accountable for their fathers' misdeeds than is His Grace the King for the acts of Aerys and Rhaegar. As to all others, following obedience they shall be treated with the grace and amity they have earnt.

Attested in Fire, Blood, and the Gleaming Name of the Lord of Light,

Viserys III Targaryen, true King over Westeros

The Riots of King's Landing, Mid 299 AL:

Gendry I "Baratheon", King of the Antler Men

A week after the assassination of Lord Protector Stannis Baratheon and the escape of most of his followers from the capital the city remains up in arms, the riots still ongoing. The outnumbered, demoralized City Watch of Commander Allar Deem still holds the gates and defends the Red Keep, the Sept of Baelor and Maegor's Holdfast, but most of the city is now under the rule of armed gangs, religious fanatics, and now even rival Kings.

In the areas closer to the gates, entire areas of the city have fallen under the rule of religious fanatics who have escaped the War in the Riverlands, nicknamed Sparrows due to their black colors and appearance. Led by a charismatic Septon, they've taken over several septs and seen their ranks grow into the hundreds, denouncing the corruption of the Crown and the Faith and promising justice to the city.

A large part of the trading guilds and areas of Flea Bottom have seen the rise of an unlikely force, as the Antler Men, disappointed and betrayed by Stannis's declaration for the Targaryens have managed to get their hands on one of Robert Baratheon's bastards, the young armorer apprentice Gendry Waters. Taking a dramatic step, leading Antler Men like master armorer Salloreon have proclaimed the unwilling boy as Gendry I Baratheon, new ruler of the city. Using their wealth and combined abilities to craft weapons, they are an increasingly well armed and popular group seeking to avenge King Robert and King Renly.

Other groups have also begun actions of their own. Rogues like The Stranger's Knight claim to fight for justice as they battle the Goldcloaks in the Streets, the mysterious knight fighting Ser Mandon Moore (the last Kingsguard in the city) to a standstill. With Robert Baratheon having won a reputation for bastards many seek for them, with at least three - the boy Arlan, the boy Gormon and a young baby named Barra - thought likely as unscrupulous knights and adventures wonder on how to press their own claims as they battle for the favor of the small folk. Trapped in the Red Keep as the garrisons grow smaller, Grand Maester Erreck has written to the Citadel, describing the situation as being dangerously close to that of the Moon of the Three Kings in the Dance of Dragons.

Anything could happen in the capital now.

Proclamation of the Faith

The crown and the faith are the two pillars that hold of this world. If one is collapsing, the other must stop this collapse. The crown is suffering from its biggest crisis in the last 2 decades, no claimant to the iron throne manages to hold the iron throne for a longer time since the death of his grace King Robert.

The 3 claimants on this city all asked the Faith to crown them King. But who about these 3 claimants shall be king? The answer is simple: make the Warrior, one of the seven faces of the god representing strength in battle, lead us. The real King of the Andals will be the one who will defeat all of its enemies, as it means the Warrior would have chosen him. When the victor will be determined, the Faith will crown him and serve him as the Crown and the Faith are the two pillars that hold up this world.

For now, as there isn't a clear victor, the Faith must hold up this world. Barbaric dothrakis are invading Westeros, a big threat that the Faith must face. In order to protect us, I proclaim that the Faith Militant is hereby reformed. Everyone will be welcome in this organization under the service of gods, and under the service of the Crown when the victor will be clear.

The Faith will also provide food and help for those in need in this city, in order to the serve the Maiden, an another of the Seven Faces of the God.

First Resolutions of King Viserys III's First Small Council

I That the rebels presently resisting in the City, even unto the baseborn pretenders, will be granted mercy in a final amnesty should they surrender, with the exceptions only of Ser Shadrich and the chief schemers calling themselves Antler Men, traitors beyond forgiveness. The goods of these last named are all forfeit and bestowed under the true and faithful citizens of King's Landing, the better to feed and succour them.

II That trade with the Free City of Volantis should be carried out without let, tariff or hindrance.

III That the lands of Rosby, forfeited by an open traitor and a murderer of a King's counsellor, are to be appended for the time being to the Crown's estate, their revenues further employed in the feeding of the City. After the present emergency has passed, the correct and lineal heir to Rosby may be sought among those Crownlands nobles who prove themselves to the King with leal and true service.

IV That the City Watch be renewed and strengthened by the good offices of Lords Rykker and Staunton.

V That the King and Hand, by their own resources, hereby institute the draining, cleansing and purifying of the capital, with the building of cisterns and aqueducts, providing wages and sustenance to any citizens in want undertaking such employ.

VI That the High Septon, on the King's receipt of certain undertakings, be invited to join the deliberations of the Small Council, as was thought fitting in the time of Blessed Baelor.

Sealed in Fire and Blood, in the Light of the Seven

Declaration the of Faith
The Faith is now finally going to take a side.
Viserys is the only "claimant" that chose to contact me and to express his committment to the Faith, notably making me sure he understood the necessity of the Faith having a bigger role in the matters of the Realm.
Despite taking control of the city, Viserys made sure not to attack the areas controlled by the Faith.
I dreamt yesterday of Viserys leading the charges against the Dothrakis, I interpret that as the God of the Seven who has finally picked his champion.
The Realm is currently invaded by the Dothrakis, well-known barbaric non believers. The Faith needs a champion and that's Viserys. I urge everyone in the Realm to back him and to serve him well.

*Viserys gets out of the Sept *
"I now proclaim, Viserys of House Targaryen, Third of His name, King of the Andals of the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm.
LONG MAY HE REIGN"

I would like to add as well that the crown currently owned by the Faith is hereby forgiven, we need to put all the ressources behing the defenses of the Dothrakis.

PROCLAMATION REGARDING THE REFORMED FAITH

By royal decree, the laws of Maegor outlawing the Faith Militant are repealed. The High Septon has agreed that the Faith Militant respects the dignity of the Crown and takes an oath of homage to the lawful head of House Targaryen. In return, King Viserys pledges to forsake the ill custom of Valyrian incest, and to foster and protect the Faith as of old, along with the Crown a twin pillar of the Realm.

The Faith Militant is welcome to the struggle against rebels and traitors, but the Warrior is but one aspect of the seven. Let septons and begging brothers assist the raising of aqueducts and cisterns in the Smith and Crone's holy names, and spread healing and succour among the populace, the merciful gifts of the Mother and Maiden.

LATEST ROYAL PROCLAMATIONS

King Viserys acknowledges his beloved natural daughter, Daena Waters, as a true dragon seed, while emphasising that bastards, such as all the pretenders who defy him, may never hope to inherit any seat lawfully.

The King lets cry a great tournament at Rosby, where all leal knights are enjoined to compete for the signal honour of places upon the one true Kingsguard, commanded by Ser Barristan Selmy, commonly called the Bold.

The King furthermore announces that the said Ser Barristan, the true Stranger's Knight, at this same occasion challenges his successor, the false murderer of Lord Stannis, to a trial at arms.

Lady Asha,

You have my congratulations for your victories in the west. But I can only support them formally if you agree to rule as royal Warden, subject to my rule, and not as Queen. If so, then I pledge to help you secure the prize of the Rock itself.

Avowed in Fire and Blood,

Viserys III

Lady Asha, Queen of the Isles by the acclamation of your banners,

If you conquer in the West, I may rejoice at the discomfiture of my enemies but I cannot support your claim unless you agree to be my Crown's Western Warden.

But if you avenge your father in assailing a distracted North, I could accept you as a monarch equal in authority and expanse to myself, sovereign above Moat Cailin.

Think well upon my offer.

Proffered amid Fire and Blood,

Viserys III

To the Lords and Regents of Westeros

This is the way the Beggar King would rule over us! Through political transactions so shallow the smack of his piss green crown.

I am of a different mind.

Let it hereforth be known that there is no King in the Iron Islands. There is only I, the Queen, and I will pay the Iron Price for my kingdom.

The Beggar King would sell the seat of House Lannister for my Ironfleet.

He would give away the whole of the North if only for the price of doing his bidding, and defeating their armies on his behalf? Never!

This is the weak leadership that we Ironborn despise, and will never follow.

Fire and Blood, more like piss and sh*t!

We are Ironborn, and We Do Not Sow

The queen of kinslayers appears to be the latest to have played with Baelish's little finger and his honourees purse. It is a transaction she, like his other patsies, shall live to regret, but not for long.

Announcement from the High Septon: Cersei Lannister's trial
The crown and the faith are the two pillars that hold up this world, if one collapses, so does the other. No one can escape the justice from the justice of the gods, whether they are from of the Great Houses of Westeros or not.
This is why Cersei, from the House Lannister, will stand trial in the Great Septon Baelor on the charges of incest, charges that led to the start of the so called "War of the Five Kings". And the God of the Seven will determine her guilt or her innocence.

No one can escape the Justice of the Gods,

Revoked for the time being. I have no PM's of 1184AZ on this particular issue, nor have I recieved an explanation on why it would be IC for Tyrion to suddenly declare Tommen dropping his claims.

King Viserys has received sufficient proofs to acknowledge the true birth of his nephew, Aegon Targaryen, son of Rhaegar Targaryen, once Prince of Dragonstone, and Elia of Dorne; the prince hitherto thought vilely murdered with his sister, but preserved by the cunning of Lord Varys and the faithfulness of Lord Connington.

In consideration of law, precedent, the disinheritance of Rhaegar and the treachery of Daenerys, Prince Aegon is pronounced heir presumptive to the King, until the birth of any children to Queen Arianne, but before Daenerys and Rhaego.

In addition Prince Aegon is named the King's envoy and ambassador extraordinary to the Free Cities of Essos.
