HP. Just because your opponents may not be good doesn't mean you're good yourself, before anyone brings up the South Vietnamese Presidents.

That is true. Ho Chi Minh was a HP. Not all South Vietnamese leaders were necessarily good, though.

Stalinist murderer. The lesser evil when compared to South Vietnam and the United States, sure, but still, this is someone who obviously deserves an HP vote.

Probably not, with your attitudes towards Russia/Soviet Russia.

On what basis, though? You're obviously not rigorously anti-war as a general attitude. Is it due to perceived immorality of the United States government's actions in and in regards to the Far East, the inefficiency or perceived unfightability of the war, or genuine support for the communist government there?

Yes I understand that but with your attitudes towards communism, large subsects  of socialism, and soviet Russia being extremely negative, I doubt you would've supported Ho Chi Minh, youn wouldve opposed the Vietnam war, like the Iraq war, but you wouldn't go saying Sadam!, Saddam!, Saddam!.

I probably would've supported north Vietnam, as I do now, and would at that time, though I would wish it to be less Stalinist and more democratic and liberal, but would've accepted it, to advance the cause of anti-coloanlism and socialism.

Because I knew these leftists would call him a FF, even though I find him to be a HP. In my hometown and surrounding areas, the Garden Grove/Westminster/Fountain Valley/Huntington Beach area, most easily find him to be a massive HP.

I'm a libertarian. A non-interventionist. I think going to war was a mistake, but I don't think the North Vietnamese government was the lesser evil. The Hue massacre killed 3,000-6,000 civilians and prisoners of war. In addition, the Dak Son massacre killed 252 civilians. Many leftists deny or downplay this.

That's what Henry Kissinger said.

He deliberately followed LBJ's strategy of following a war using 'no win' tactics. That way he could soften up America for detente with the Soviets at the same time as selling out the people of Indochina to communist control.
