Haha this is so funny (and sad if you're a Sanders supporter like I was):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moNHfeBJ81I&t

The lyrics:
I come home in the morning light
My mother says “you voted for my candidate, right?”
Oh mother dear, Clinton-Kaine were not the ones
Cause Bernie, he would have won
Oh Bernie would have won

The phone rings, 3am in the night
Bill Clinton asked me “did I vote for his wife?”
Your Neoliberal polices are quite dumb
And bernie, he would have won
Oh bernie would have won

That's all we really want
To smash the oligarchic system
The working class they would have come
For Bernie! and he would have won
Oh, Bernie would have won

Bernie, he woulda
Bernie woulda won, he woulda
Bernie woulda

Some groups take a beautiful candidate
And hide him away from their constit-you-ence-say
We all know who the DNC stole it from
From Bernie, who woulda beat trump

Yeah Bernie would have won

lol yeah Trump faced 16 GOP opponents (a far tougher bench than the clown show of 2012) then defeated the Clinton machine, but his real weakness was a 75 year old socialist from Vermont. Oh no!

Btw we saw Bernie vs. Trump on election night in Wisconsin.

Feingold lost.

The Clinton machine kinda sucks. The only elections Hillary won were when she coasted off name recognition (2016 primaries) and when she was in a solidly blue state (2000, 2006 Senate). Bernie was doing better than Hillary in basically every poll, and his economic agenda is actually popular with a majority of people, for the most part. So yeah, the guy who took down the Burlington establishment in an upset victory to become mayor, the guy who took out an incumbent Republican in the house as an independent, the guy who almost stopped the coronation of Queen Hillary Clinton, he would have lost. Yeah.

Yeah, when running against an incumbent, without having the national attention of a Presidential race, and with the downward pull of Hillary Clinton.
Stop glorifying the candidacy of someone probably incapable of actually doing the job.
lol yeah the guy who's been a mayor for 8 years, a representative for 16 years, and a senator for 10 years is less capable than an 8 year senator, 4 year secretary of state and oligarch, and also less capable than the fascist buffoon tv star billionaire kleptocrat Trump.

Had the massive movement Bernie claimed would turn out for him in the primaries actually existed, he would have won.

Bernie would, indeed, have likely won, certainly against Trump.

...what the hell does this even mean? So not being a technocratic wonk like Clinton = being unfit for office? That's ridiculous.

Modern liberalism, ladies and gentlemen! Don't you know that choosing a President is just like choosing a pilot for an airplane?

The idea that Bernie Sanders would have beaten Donald Trump is the same as the idea that Ted Cruz and so many other far-right nuts peddle that Dole, McCain, and Romney all lost because they were too "moderate."  And it's just as laughable, too.  While Hillary's scandals and failure to capitalize on anti-trade sentiment hurt her, they were far from the only reasons why she lost.  The simple fact is that minority turnout, particularly black turnout, was destined to drop off this year from 2008 and 2012, simply by virtue of Obama not being on the ballot.  Sanders' supporters in the primaries were almost entirely white, young, and upper-middle class.  While those voters most likely would have supported him in a general election, I doubt that minorities would have turned it in large enough numbers for him to win.

-Minorities did not turn out in large enough numbers for HRC to win. That would not have been even slightly affected by the Sanders candidacy. The White youth vote would have elected him.

No one. You see, Hillary was the most perfect candidate in the history of America, and the fact that she lost means that obviously the voters are to blame.

The issue is that voting's not compulsory in America. In order to win, you need to fire up your base and activist wing. Bernie was especially good at that. Hillary . . . sort of wasn't.

No. But when economists on your side of the isle criticize your plans for being vague, unrealistic, etc. and you dismiss those criticisms as being in the bag for your opponent instead of acknowledging them and creating a better plan, is a sign that you don't know what you're talking about and will refuse to let facts change your mind.

Those stories have been discredited many times scarlet or whatever your name is.  Maybe you should pay more attention.  Also I would appreciate it if you stopped derailing threads with your anti-Bernie trolling nonsense.

Discredited by who? And how so? This thread is about Bernie, so people will give opinions on him.

-Who cares? Facts have never mattered in politics. Voters in 2016 thought Trump was the best candidate on the deficit (lololololol)!

Unlikely.  Note that the GOP actually won the House vote by 1% and would have won it by more if GOP and Dems had candidates in all districts (a lot districts in NY and CA had no GOP candidates.)  Clinton won a lot of GOP House crossover votes that Sanders would not have won even if Sanders were able to keep some of the non-educated White defection to Trump.  For example, in a Trump vs Sanders race I would still expect Trump to win PA but with a map that looks more like Toomey-McGinty win than a Trump-Clinton win.
