Might not be just one. There's no real reason for the old cabinet to be there and until they resign or are replaced, they're still in the line of succession, tho I expect they'll all be out of office by the end of Inauguration Day.

Heh, I think PPT was picked as an additional survivor a couple of times, which pretty much renders official "designated survivor" just a backup-backup guy.

Under the current method of selecting the PPT, he's always going to be an old frat who might have a good reason to avoid a lengthy ceremony he has no official capacity in. However while he wasn't outside on the platform, was Hatch far enough away to be a survivor if the unthinkable happened?
