Chelsea Clinton is reportedly being groomed to run in the New York 17th Congressional District for the U.S. House of Representatives.

If she does run, how far do you think she will get in her political career?

Please discuss.

Have the Clintons still not gotten the message?

Seriously, if you have the desire to change the country for the better, if you believe you add something valuable to the political discourse, if you see a wrong that needs to be righted...by all means run. But this whole "well, my parents were politicians so I better get into politics as well" bullsh*t needs to stop...now!

Just because she's a Clinton doesn't mean she deserves a automatic seat in Congress or an automatic place in politics, but also just because she's a Clinton doesn't mean she should be barred from every attempting to make a political career for herself.

Is there anything great about her? What has she done apart from assisting her parents in their campaign. She has to give a good reason why people should vote for her?

I remember Chelsea had a very low level attack before NH (which was a complete lie) that Bernie Sanders wanted to dismantle healthcare from poor people. Generally children & spouses don't attack candidates viciously (Unless you are a renowned politician) & that also with a lie.

I think Chelsea should come up with what her vision is, why she wants to run. People have to go beyond this brand & dynasty worship!

God, please enough with the dynasty politics. Enough Clintons. Enough Bushs. Enough Kennedys.

I still seethe every time I think about how the parties tried to set us up for another Bush/Clinton race.

And what exactly is her political career predicated on, aside from that?

And what exactly was Trump's political career predicated on? I guess it doesn't matter at this point what kind of past a political wannabe candidate has, right?

Hopefully, about a mile or two down the road.  LOL!

Being closely related to a politician helps one succeed in politics.  That's just reality.  If it works for the Bushes, let it work for the Clintons.

Chelsea Clinton is ignorant, and she has no accomplishments of her own. In my view, there is no way that she will make her way in politics like her parents did. If she were ever to run for a major federal position, I am sure that many would reject her. She is boring and uninspiring. I say we have no more Clintons in any position of authority. Let them stay in their holes in New York, living off money stolen from us.

If Chelsea ran in NY-17, she'd probably win. Westchester and Rockland County are high-income, suburban areas where Hillary targeted in both the primaries and the general election, and turned out big (I think she won Westchester by 32 points in November).

Not that she'd ever win statewide, or mount a successful presidential campaign. I hope that's not her aspiration, either.
