If Donald Trump is re elected in 2020 by an even bigger margin than in 2016 and by the end of his second term has an approval rating over 50 percent will is it time democrats to become more conservative and blue color like Rep Joe Machine, Rep Tim Ryan, and former Senator Jim Webb

You mean if he actually wins the popular vote?

My guess is if Trump decides to run for re election he will probably win by this margin in the electoral vote so he most likely will win the popular vote

Republican: 356
Democrat: 182

I doubt it. When Bush won the popular vote in 2004, Democrats didn't purge the left wing of their party. They probably won't move to the center unless Trump wins by an actual landslide in 2020 (10+ point margin of victory) which is unlikely in the current political climate.

But I thought Hillary and Kaine's problem was being too conservative?

GOP somewhat gave up on gay marriage and reversed their position on free trades so Dems will probably shift their ideology over time as well.

I can see Dems compromising on gun control and abortion.

The Republican Party still has it in it's platform that marriage is between a man and a woman

Full Corbynization will reach its pinnacle, and the Democrat party will die shortly thereafter.

folks, if the demoRATS dont win next election they should just admit that the Republicans are always right and give up IMHO.

I wouldn't go that far, although I can think of several state parties that should just dissolve and allow a viable opposition party to take their place.

I'd love it if Trump improves in or wins the popular vote but loses the election. What a tweet storm that would be...

I wonder if he would make a concession in that situation, Lol.
