Mine is from Battlefield 2 when I was younger.

I initially started BF2 as Death_From_Above as I flew around in Blackhawk's and used the 50 Cal out the side to spray victims below. It was an epic game at the time.

Then I joined a gaming group and had to put [OMR] in front of my name, but due to the character restrictions, my name got shortened to:

[OMR]Death_From_Abo

"Abo" is a derogatory term in Australia/NZ for Aboriginal. It's a bit like Nigga, except it wont even be reclaimed.

So it ended up looking like Death_From_Nigga everytime I shot someone online. And of course, everyone would type on the screen their opinion of the event.

So I bought a new account, and chose Meclazine which I thought was clever.

Couldn't shorten to [OMR]DeathFromAbove?

No,

In BF2, once you chose your basic username, you were stuck with it. But BF2 went down in price, and I spent $40 on a Meclazine account.

Too many racially charged comments with the other name.

Mine is a line from the Radiohead song Idioteque that got stuck in my head for a while and I just started using it one day on a whim (signing up for SA at first I think); and it just stuck.  Before this one I never really liked any username I thought of, but this one works.

Nickname + first initial of my surname.

First used it on Stick Cricket of all things, and it has stuck since then.

I'm not sure who coined R2D2 (it might've been Grumps) but I like it a lot more than my username.

Yep, it was me, R2.  Wink

I choose not to reveal the answer. Why do you think I chose 3D x 31?

If asked, I could change my mind, if anyone's interested; better, though to offer it
as a mystery yet to be solved.

Smiley Thanks for playing. You get an A. I didn't think it would be that hard. I was right.

As a member of the Cult of Cthulhu, I would prefer to die quickly and somewhat painlessly.

It's an allusion to neoconservative ideology of spreading American influence + Reagan's shining city.

People who currently advocate intervention nowadays, but draft dodged when it was their turn back in 'Nam. You'll find quite a few of them in the ranks of the neo-cons, unsurprisingly.
